INC is an acronym for Love In the Name of Christ Love INC exists to help churches help hurting people through SERVICE in the Name of Christ. A
Christian will touch them with Christ’s presence, His Mercy, His Kindness, His Goodness, His Care, His
Love, His Word – and their souls are marked. Local churches of many Christian denominations demonstrate unity in the ONE body of Christ as they
respond, In the Name of Christ, to the legitimate needs of the poor in the many different types of“hands on” services, on an as needed referral basis – service of a kind not available through funded
agencies (or through other churches). Love INC makes firm these promises to your church and to each
church member volunteer.
We Promise:
1. Your talent and time given to the poor and other needy through the LOVE INC System in no way
effects any other of your church ministry or agency relationships.
2. Your gift of talent and time is what you decide to give. You are not identified with an agency or
any particular ministry. It’s talent and time that you alone control. You give today and wait for
God’s call to serve a need specified by you.
3. You are never called to give your talents or your time except those that you mark on the
Talent/Time Inventory. You may be informed of opportunities that arise and fall under a new or undetermined resource that you may want to be a part of.
4. There are no committees to join or meetings to attend.
5. You are not signing on to any regular service.
6. The Talent Survey Sheet is a confidential church record. You will be contacted by your CMC (Church Ministry Coordinator) or a trained Love INC office volunteer who is authorized by you to call if and when a need matching your gifted talent may surface.
7. Any need referred for your response will be located in your church zone. That means it will be on
your side of the city.
8. Any need referred for your response will be legitimate--checked out in every detail.
9. Any need referred for your response will be manageable--it will have a beginning and an end--no
open end situations.
10. Any need referred for your response will be specific--no vague instructions.
11. Any need referred for your response will be a need that cannot be served by any funded agency
or any church not participating in the network--no duplication of time and effort.
12. Any need referred for your response, you may feel free to decline without guilt. There is no
pressure. The need will be cared for by another volunteer either from your church or another. You
may be asked at some other time.
13. God needs your heart gift today--your action sometime in the future. May He bless you richly for
your wonderful gift of talent and time and your willingness to serve if and when He calls. Until He
calls, we wait-- we wait upon the Lord.
